But even when I didn’t know it, my non-linear career path has been leading me to where I am today, targeting digital experience design across brand, web, and learning experience design. Â
Since 2011, across all these years and different roles, there have been 4Â common threads:Â
Brand Identity ✦ Web Design ✦ Learning Experience ✦ Social Impact
✦ Brand Identity Â
✦ Web DesignÂ
✦ Learning Experience
✦ Social Impact
Here’s a closer look:
Paraprofessional Instructor for a variety of high school marching band programs.Â
Learning Experience: Developed daily learning experiences, including engaging content, active learning activities, learning technologies, and constructive feedback.
Conducted performance assessments, assisted students to improve performance techniques, and helped lead several groups to top competitive performances.Â
Social Impact: For me, teaching has always been about the social impact of helping others.Â
Account Manager for a major American radio broadcaster with local stations, digital media, and national content.
Brand Identity: Understanding each individual client brand’s identity was critical to success in this role. Created visual, audio, and web content for local, regional, and national brands. Developed sales pitches and ads for clients, involving heavy user research and user experience design.Â
Web Design: I created digital marketing web content for several campaigns and clients.Â
Learning Experience: Many of the local accounts I called on were new to major advertisers, so it was important to effectively educate them on its benefits and possibilities.Â
Social Impact: I always gravitated toward smaller, local, more social impact oriented brands.Â
Career Center Director / Advisor for 3 consecutive proprietary colleges, managing portfolios of up to 170 clients.
Brand Identity: A huge part of this role was developing branding/marketing content for students and marketing content for the department, while focusing on the needs and experiences of local employers in all messaging, content, and processes.
Learning Experience: These roles were all about creating engaging learning experiences for students and educational content for students and local employers.
Social Impact: Much like teaching, my passion for this role was largely centered around the social impact of it.
Multi-certified resume writer and career transition coach for 100+ clients annually.Â
Brand Identity: I ‘wore all the hats’ in this role, developing branding/marketing content for clients, high-volume and high-quality marketing content as well as advertising, promotions, and social media strategy for the business.
Web Design: I built the website from scratch, created all web content, and developed every iteration and updated over 7+ years.
Learning Experience: Created educational content and resources for clients, and consistent.
Social Impact: I took pro-bono clients, presented pro bono workshops, and consistently advocated for and empowered job seekers.Â
Director / Content Creator / Digital Content & Marketing Strategist for an RVer-focused job board.Â
Brand Identity: The main focus of this role was creating branded content for several very different audiences.
Web Design: Developed website strategy for differing audiences, as well as website redesign strategy for rebranding and expansion into a new market.Â
Learning Experience: Developed and presented multiple educational seminars, workshops, and educational resources to help empower job seekers.Â
Social Impact: Held open informational sessions for job seekers.Â
Job seeker actively developing skills through education and personal projects (like this portfolio).Â
Brand Identity: Since October 2023, I’ve been focused exclusively on building skills in user experience, graphic design, motion & video, and WordPress, as well as developing a deeper understanding of social impact work.Â
Web Design: I developed this portfolio website with a heavy user-focused design strategy.Â
Social Impact: I completed an Ivy League Executive Program in Digital Media for Social Impact. I’ve also been analyzing case studies from social impact agencies and, in my personal time, donating time and money to causes that are important to me.Â
My eclectic background has made me well-matched for roles that require a people-focused approach, a do-gooder attitude, and a stubborn determination to succeed.Â
I’m deeply interested in organizations that make a difference, inspire people to take meaningful actions, and work toward a more kind and equitable world.Â
Accolades
No matter what role I was in, I was recognized for quality content and trusted by superiors, industry leaders, colleagues, clients, and audiences. Below are some examples.Â
