Serving as a Branding and UX Design Generalist, I created the entire website, including a logo, numerous pages, user flows, interactive elements, and unified branding.
(Note: This was a very early project that has not been updated to meet current trends.)
Challenge #1
Challenge: Logo Creation. A logo was an important step in solidifying the brand.
Solution: Create a unique. eye-catching logo that shows personality and represents the spirit of nomadic adventure.
First-Ever Logo
Strategy:
This brand was all about RV travel, so I tried to pack in as many different travel themes as possible: the RV, mountains, water, forest trees, and a desert cactus.
(In hindsight, I realize this was a little excessive, but that’s how I learned and got better.)
Brand Continuity:
The green and orange in the logo were chosen because both colors are often associated with outdoors and adventure, and are widely used in the RV industry.
Challenge #2
Challenge: Website creation. In order to build an online following, a user-friendly website was a must.
Solution: Create a website that shows the excitement of RV travel and provides resources to help others achieve that lifestyle.
Homepage
Hover (desktop) or tap (mobile) each image to reveal explanation points for each section. Hover/tap each number to reveal explanations.
Full Page
Custom Logo: Immediately establishing the brand.
Hero Image: Carousel of several exciting travel photos.
Menu: Providing users easy access to resources, the blog, and more about the people behind brand.
Introductions: Engaging users with interesting personal stories that help them see themselves living the RV nomad lifestyle.
Motion/Interactive: A 'counter' feature with a scroll trigger.
Interactive Map: Encourages interaction and allows the user to explore the map.
Social Proof: An auto-updating Instagram photo wall that ignites excitement and encourages social follows.
Footer: Convenient info on future travel plans, the blog, and a mailing list sign-up - all encouraging more engagement, interaction, and follows.
